Vim Still Present After Purge Command, Why?
I need help understanding Vim and vim variants. I need clipboard support, which I can get by installing vim-gtk3. i tried that on my Ubuntu 18.04 machine, but the same version of vim previously installed via "sudo apt-get install vim" keeps coming up. I tried "update-alternatives --config editor" to select it, but still won't come up. I tried using the "purge vim" command and "autoremove" but even then, typing "vim --version" comes up with the original version!!!
I don't understand, how to I get to the point where I can do a clean install of vim???
Please help me understand what i am doing wrong.
