Android Studio and HAXM Installation
Good day everyone,
I've started taking a Mobile Development course this semester and have had a few difficulties getting Android Studios to run written code.
The program starts fine, if a little slowly, and I can write and edit code just fine. My problem came about when I attempted to run the code I had written. I got the following:
Process finished with exit code 1.
ERROR: x86 emulation currently requires hardware acceleration!
Searching the web I came upon many videos and pages that instructed me to download HAXM that had failed to download during the initial download. I downloaded the file, extracted the files and started up the intelhaxm-android.exe file.

Instead of the installer beginning I was greeted with this message:
"Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified location exists and is writable."
From here, I followed more websites' instructions to use the Task Manager to close explorer.exe and restart it. I did so and attempted to run the intelhaxm-android.exe file again.
"Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified location exists and is writable."
I then used the command prompt to close and restart explorer.exe
"Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified location exists and is writable."
Now again, I can start Android Studio, write and edit code to my heart's content; my work is doable just not checkable.
I would like to know if anyone has any other ideas of how I could get the HAXM installed, an alternative program I could use or a way to check the code I've already written. While it wouldn't be the first time I've had to complete assignments code-blind it's not something I enjoy.
I'm running the latest version of Android Studio 3.3 for Windows 64-bit (944 MB) on a Windows 10, 64-bit system. Any help would be gladly appreciated, my first assignment is due tonight and while I can write it I hate not being able to check it.
And yes I have asked my teacher; we're both looking for solutions at this time as well.
