Deleting Sent items from outlook.com/hotmail with an external client
I'm helping a relative who is a long-time hotmail, now outlook.com, user now close to a 15GB quota. He uses the web interface exclusively.
We set up his Mac mail client and used it to find the big folders, copied many to his hard drive, and deleted the messages off the server. This has helped recover some space.
He still has multiple GB of mail in his Sent folder. We can copy these onto his Mac but are not able to delete the messages from the server. I tried copy/delete and also move without success. I can't find any permissions that would prevent this on the web interface or through the Mac mail client. He was not connected to the account through the web while we were doing this so there's no possibility of file locking conflicts.
While it might be possible to use the web client to delete the messages, the user interface isn't optimized for this and having to scroll and wait for screen refreshes isn't appealing.
Is there a solution to bulk deleting outlook.com Sent items using an external client ?
