RRAS SSTP VPN only accepts connection after attempting a PPTP VPN connection

0

I have a DC running RRAS with 2 public IPs.

IP 1: Forwards all 443 traffic to a web server on the domain.
IP 2: Does not forward 443 traffic so the SSTP VPN can listen for incoming connection requests.

Connecting to the SSTP (IP2) only works if I first attempt to connect to the PPTP (IP1), after initiating a connection attempt the SSTP then accepts the requests.

Running Wireshark on IP2 443 shows the incoming traffic, so I know it's getting through the firewalls.

I've checked that the SSTP service is running and set to Automatic(Delayed) start.

Any suggestions on why an SSTP connection only seems to work if I first kick the server with a PPTP request?

I need the SSTP VPN because iphones wont connect to non web ports when users access the VPN via a personal hotspot, also some firewalls at our clients offices / public wifi spots deny requests on non web ports (80,443)
