FastCopy transfer rate keeps slowing down significantly during large file transfers
I read all kinds of fora about file transfers and cant seem to understand or fix this:
I have 2 USB3 harddisks connected by a hub to my laptop. When i copy 2TB of 15 and 30MB files with FastCopy, the copy starts at 63MBps. And in a span of hours this speed goes to about 45 and hours later to 27MBps.
I have the buffer set to 512MB. This happens the same way on 2 different computers (a new one with 8GB and an old one with 4GB ram).
What could be causing the very gradual slowing down?
Does it help to set the buffer differently? Can i change the buffer while copying?
Is there some sort of cache somewhere that gets filled up and needs to be emptied?
Thank you very much in advance!
