Purging files using Robocopy with filter applied

I'm trying to purge files that are older than x-days and that do not match certain file wildcard mask.
Specifically, all files and directories older than 7 days and that do not end in underscore _ should be deleted. As an extra measure of safety to preserve files ending in underscore _, I move them elsewhere and that step 1 appears to work fine. However, when I'm trying to delete all other files ending in numbers, the command fails. It appears as if /e /purge for robocopy will not work, as it doesn't consider file masks.



Step 1: (I'm moving all underscore files out of the way)



ROBOCOPY Y:Source Y:Target *_.??? /s /move /minage:7


Step 2: (Trying to delete all other files, but they need to be older than 7 days)



ROBOCOPY Y:EMPTY Y:SOURCE *0.??? *1.??? *2.??? *3.??? *4.??? *5.??? *6.??? *7.??? *8.??? *9.??? /e /purge /minage:7


Step 2 fails as it is deleting all files no matter of file age or file mask. I research using copying files to NUL output instead, but it appears as if ROBOCOPY doesn't like that at all.
