How to adjust domain shape of a MS Excel surface plot

I've collected some data that I'd like to display as a surface plot. The data was gathered by sampling in a mesh domain, with one axis having coarse spacing and the other axis having fine spacing. I'd like to plot this as a surface with a square domain, but excel likes to display it as a very skinny rectangle. I'm sure it's a simple problem but I can't find any formatting option that allows me to set the physical characteristics of the domain mesh.

EDIT: After going through every axis option I could find and consulting these 1 2 3 office support documents, I'm going to conclude this basic functionality is not possible.

EDIT: Some figures to illustrate the problem.

Some randomly generated data to be plotted by any of the 3d graph options. The goal would be to rescale the graphic into a cube.

surface plot

Below are some options for the value axis (vertical/z-axis). It doesn't allow you to control window height but at least there's some scale options.

And here are the options for the series axis (depth/y-axis). Note the lack of options.

  • If you can provide a sample, it will be better to help you.

  • not sure if my understanding is correct, you can select the Chart- go to Design- Select Data- Edit the Horizontal Axis Labels manually: ibb.co/huZdeq

  • Hi Lee, this option just changes the labels, I'm looking to change the aspect ratio of the graph.
