When I set a view to a folder within my desktop, the view is automatically applied to my desktop.

I have tried properties -> customize -> optimize this folder for

The above does nothing. Whenever I select a view its applied universally to all folders.

How can I prevent this happening? System reset? Registry edit?

I want one view applied to desktop and other views applied to folders on my desktop.
