How to check the application i/o type
I want to check my NFS performance. Here I am trying to launch the application and I want to check the IO latency.
Here I am using ioping to check the IO latency. As ioping has a different I/O type, I am bit confused. Need a suggestion on checking the IO latency with NFS.
Also, I want to which I/O type a particular application is using. Is there any way to check in Linux?

I used the Strace to check the function call. In that application, I cloud able to see open("", O_RDONLY|O_CLOEXEC) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory). Here I didn't get the I/O type like wheather it is using O_DIRECT or "Use asynchronous I/O (syscalls io_submit(2), io_submit(2), etc)." .
