Will this server memory work in a laptop?

I have a macbook pro mid 2012. One of the ram slots are dead on the board thus I can only run one ram slot.
I've been searching for ram for this laptop and came across HP 16GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM ECC Registered DDR3L 1600 (PC3L 12800) Server Memory Model 713985-B21.
Link: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820326405
All the specifications seem to be equivalent to the type of ram I had in my computer. (DDR3 1600mhz PC3L 12800) Just not sure if im missing something important..

I'm not sure if it would support a single 16 GB module. Did you have 2x8GB modules to begin with?

Most of the big RAM sellers have configurators/search engines - use one. This quick search at Crucial says your find will not work - uk.crucial.com/gbr/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Apple/…

Can you confirm your current memory is ECC. Macbook Pros typically don't have a wide range of memory compatibility since Apple only supports what they themselves sell.

After looking it up, that module will not work. You need 204-pin RAM. The stick you have linked is 240-pin. Source
