Azure Data Factory 2 Consecutive Pipeline Run

I have three pipelines to import data from a SAP HANA db in to an azure db and stage the data, then at intervals and create snapshot data from those intervals. Each pipeline has an if condition that checks the tables that require updating and if there are tables that require it, the if condition executes a child pipeline which runs the import/update.
pipeline 1
check tables requiring update y/n
yes - execute import of tables (child pipeline)
no - wait until next scheduled run.
pipeline 2
check staging has finished y/n
yes - identify latest completed copy of each staging tabld execute copy of data from staging to dm
no - wait until next scheduled run
pipeline 3
schedule to retrieve latest completed data mart copy for each table and take a copy in to the snapshot tables.
All three pipelines run fine when manually triggered consecutively. However, I need to join them in a chain (import and stage/'data mart'/snapshot) so that i have one job on a schedule/trigger that when one pipeline finishes the next pipeline starts and NOT before. I have tried if conditions, wait on completion, controlling the chain with success/fail/completion. I need a control that waits for the child pipeline in the parent task to complete and only then, move to the next parent task.
Any ideas how we can control a contained task to wait for all the child tasks to run before it completes the next task?
