Google Chrome shows https:// page as insecure, but when in incognito mode shows it as secure

I'm using the latest stable version of Chrome, version 70.0.3538.110 (Official Build) (64-bit).



When I open some websites via https:// , Chrome does not show a lock in the address line, and on the security tab in the developer tools it shows that something is wrong with the https:// connection. See the linked screenshot below.



When the page is opened in Incognito mode, Chrome considers the page as Secure; I can see the lock in the Everything Bar, and I can see the certificate. Why is there a discrepancy?

  • The site is marked by Chrome as collecting information about its users, but that information is not available in Incognito mode, so the site is "safe",

  • This is caused by an extension which is disabled in Incognito mode
    (all extensions are disabled in Incognito mode unless enabled by the user).


We need more information about this site, its certificate and the extensions
you have installed, to better analyze the cause of this behavior.

    I solved the issue by deleting my profile. Afterwards it worked as expected. Thanks to the sync feature of Chrome I could restore my profile with almost no losses.
