Idempotently pause VLC from telnet/LUA interface
Once you connect to VLC's telnet interface (or any other form of its CLI), you can enter pause
to toggle paused status (equivalent to hitting Space on the GUI). You can also enter play
to force playback to be active, which does nothing if currently playing, and unpauses if paused. Is there a converse?
My best candidates so far are play
followed immediately by pause
, which will cause momentary playback, and frame
("step forward one frame", usually the E key), which feels hacky.
