Can't delete “C:ProgramDataMcAfeeAgentAgentEventsUpload” contents
I've just got an used notebook with limited storage. As I was checking it, I found a folder in C drive where I can't delete at all even though I have administrator privilege.
C:ProgramDataMcAfeeAgentAgentEventsUpload>dir mc_20190101xxxx*
Volume in drive C is Windows
Directory of C:ProgramDataMcAfeeAgentAgentEventsUpload
01/10/2019 00:01 AM 1,000 mc_20190101xxxx.xml
C:ProgramDataMcAfeeAgentAgentEventsUpload>
C:ProgramDataMcAfeeAgentAgentEventsUpload>icacls mc_20190101xxxx.xml
mc_20190101xxxx.xml: Access is denied.
Successfully processed 0 files; Failed processing 1 files
C:ProgramDataMcAfeeAgentAgentEventsUpload>
I did Google about this folder and found this.
https://community.mcafee.com/t5/ePolicy-Orchestrator/Agent-trying-to-upload-events-but-event-folder-is-empty/td-p/592716
I did change permission, ownership, but still can't delete the files inside this folder.
C:ProgramDataMcAfeeAgentAgentEvents>icacls Upload
Upload PCadmin:(OI)(CI)(F)
Everyone:(OI)(CI)(F)
Successfully processed 1 files; Failed processing 0 files
C:ProgramDataMcAfeeAgentAgentEvents>
Why I can't remove it even with administrator privilege?
C:ProgramDataMcAfeeAgentAgentEventsUpload>del mc_20190101xxxx*
C:ProgramDataMcAfeeAgentAgentEventsUploadmc_20190101xxxx.xml
Access is denied.
C:ProgramDataMcAfeeAgentAgentEventsUpload>
Since I'm not using McAfee AV, is it possible to remove this folder?
windows-7 anti-virus

I'm not knowledgeable about McAfee but the software could have a driver for self protection. As a result despite permissions that could be the cause for the access denied. One suggestion would be to boot into safe mode where I assume any driver wouldn't be loaded and then try deleting the file/directory.

I'm not knowledgeable about McAfee but the software could have a driver for self protection. As a result despite permissions that could be the cause for the access denied. One suggestion would be to boot into safe mode where I assume any driver wouldn't be loaded and then try deleting the file/directory.
