Realtek Volume won't go lower on Windows 10

0

Recently I plugged a headset into my PC using an AUX port located on the front panel of my tower. It is the first time I'm using my headset since building the PC.

However the sound is set to its maximum volume when connected and even when adjusting the volume on the taskbar it still remains on its highest volume unless set to zero where it completely mutes the headset.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Realtek drivers (since it connects via "Speakers(Realtek High Definition Audio)") and toggling the Playback settings, but it hasn't changed anything.

I use Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, there is the sound card that I could try and use next but I would still probably have this problem on the front panel.
