How to restore default icons in macOS Mojave?

0

I can't restore the default icons for certain apps in MacOS Mojave which seem to be the ones that are built in by default. I wasn't able to restore the icons of apps like Preview, Launchpad, and Photos. I was able to restore all the other icons of folders and apps that I've made/downloaded by myself so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've tried using other solutions which I've seen on here but they don't seem to work. These methods were typing three specific commands into a terminal window and restarting, and also going into safe boot. They did not work, with the first one returning errors. I am using a 2017 MacBook Pro with an Intel Core i5 processor and 128 GB of storage.

  • Can you elaborate more? What do you mean by restoring default icons? What precipitated the change?

  • Also, what are the terminal commands you tried?
